Just when think you know your opponent, they change their game and put you back on the defensive.  Name the sport and that has been done.  But what about politics?  Been done there too.  Just when you think you know your opponent by their different uniform,  language, weaponry, or tactics;  they change up on you to keep you anticipating their next move instead of you planning yours.

On September, 11, 2001, 19 men changed the face of war and how that war will be waged.  To them, this war is not about land, but ideas.  The fact is that they think their ideas are superior to yours; to the point of laying down their (and your) lives for them.
In Matthew 24:7 Jesus said, “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom”.  When translated, the word nation is ethnos or people group.  This is where where we get the word ethnic.  What Jesus did not say is that this uprising is going to happen outside our borders.  For this is the very thing I want to speak about.

We live in a time and a world that the enemy is not well defined.  That they are able to blend in with us.  Why?  Because they look just like us.  Remember Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols?  How about John Muhammad, the “D.C. Sniper”?  Now most recently Joseph Stack,  who took his single engine plane and crashed it into an IRS building.  What is the common denominator?  All were Americans.  All were angry at the government.  All believed that violent acts had to be committed before anyone would listen.

This is evidence that America’s sins has reached Heaven and we as a nation are not repentant of it.  Had the Church made proper choices of selecting governmental leaders according to Biblical standards instead of party affiliation, would these atrocities not take place?  Possibly.   Because of these and many other calamities that have come to our shores, are we a nation under judgment?  Yes.  What the Church has forgotten is where does judgment start?  It starts in the House of God (see I Peter 4:17).   Because God is slow to anger and is plentiful in His mercy, judgment slowly escalates.  From the spiritual, where favor has been removed. To the natural to where “100 year storms” become commonplace. To economic, where your money will not be able to buy what you need. Now to the physical where gunmen will open fire in churches, killing innocent people.   Now I know that some will think that these are all just “coincidences” and would need Biblical evidence before they would believe what I’m saying is true.  I would ask you consider Deuteronomy 28:20-21:

The LORD shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.
The LORD shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it.

Remember, these judgments are for HIS people, not the world.  The end result of any spiritual blessing or curse is not because of an Devine or demonic influence.  It comes from our choices.  To use one of the most recently quoted Scriptures as an example II Chronicles 7:14; It is we that choose to humble ourselves.  It is we who choose to pray.  It is also we who need to turn from our wicked ways (choices).  In my entry “Political Correctness or Cultural Suicide”  I stated:

When political candidates have publically stated they support abortion on demand and same-sex marriage how can you as a Christian still vote for them?

How can this choice be considered pleasing to God?  How can choices like this invoke a blessing from Heaven?  How will we show the world that there is a better way when we make the same choices that they do?  That’s not making a difference from them, that’s coming into agreement with them.

When we will learn that it is our choices based on the correct standard (The Bible) that will make the difference?  Until that happens, God will not be pleased, judgments will continue, and the world won’t know there’s a better way.
