Sign Post Ahead: Bridge Out America

On August 25,2009 Senator Ted Kennedy passed away. I watched (what I could stomach) the funeral precession and the “mourners” on the sidewalk saying their goodbyes to a man who has done more damage to this country on the floor of the United States Senate then terrorists who would detonate bombs across this country. The saddest commentary I have is how many of these people – regardless of whether you lived in Massachusetts or not, supported this man and the causes he championed: Abortion on demand, Same-Sex Marriages, Homosexuality being taught in our public schools; could call themselves a Christian.

As we move further down the “road” of history a sign post that was on the horizon is now coming sharper into focus. That sign post says: America: Bridge Out. We as a nation must in general but as Christians in particular must not read into the sign, but read it for what it says. We as a nation have traveling down this road of destruction for many years, ignoring other “signposts”. We know how to clap, jump, shout and run around the church. But do we know stand up and speak up against unrighteousness and vote it out? If this nation is of the people, by the people and for the people and the surveys that are out that state 85-90% of Americans believe in God are correct, then Pastor why have you not instructed the people to preserve the freedoms of our country and vote in righteous leadership on a continual basis?

If we are God’s children, then why are you as the priest allowing us to pass through the fires of a governmental “Molech”? Why are calling unbelievers to bow their knee at the foot of the cross, yet tell believers to “pass through the fire” of voting unrighteous people into office saying that “Not to worry, God is in charge”? As a leader behind the sacred desk, the blood in on your hands. The only way to rectify this is to repent before God and His people (yes, in front of them) and change YOUR wicked ways. Speak forth righteous living AND righteous voting in the pulpit. Speak forth His righteous judgments, not only His tender mercies. Speak forth that this nation will be cursed if we do not support the nation of Israel (Genesis 12:3 is still valid to this very day). It is only then when we in the pew place a demand on our Pastors to do this or we resolve to walk away from these churches that continually preach unsound doctrine and let the Holy Spirit guide us in the way we need to go.

America, We are fast approaching the point of no return. Either we hit the brakes and do a 180 degree turn, or mash our foot on the gas and drive off the cliff heading hood first into the canyon of history that is so wide and deep no one would be able to hear the “splat”.

Pick A Side, The Lord Already Has

How did our country get to this point in time? The answer is shocking yet quite simple. Silent Pastors are to blame. I have heard the arguments and debated those who held them. They have cited Romans 13:1 and 2 over and over again that there is no authority on the Earth except what God put there. Yet when I point out verses 3 and 4 of Romans 13 which brings the context of the first two verses, I notice that no argument can come forth. As a matter of fact they try to ignore verse 3 and 4 and keep citing 1 and 2. To give everyone who reads this clarity, Romans 13: 1-4 says:

1) Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

2) Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

3) For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

4) For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

In verses 1 and 2 it says what authority is. In verses 3 and 4 it spells out the PURPOSE of authority. This misinterpretation of Scripture (whether it is done through deception or malice) indicates to me that most Christians are not only adamant about not having an honest, intellectual discussion on what the Bible says and how it applies to our society, they are actually fulfilling II Timothy 4:3-4 which says:

3) For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

4) And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

No one in Christian leadership seems to want to be honest enough with themselves – not to mention their congregations that they are charged by God to sheppard, to admit that they made a mistake. That through their silence or coercion, they have encouraged to their members to elect a “Saul” (read I Samuel 8 on how Saul came to power and I Samuel 9 on what he did after he took power). We see before our very eyes Saul (Obama) is consolidating his power base. Nationalizing (Government owning) every industry possible. From banks to cars, to now health care. What are the pastor’s response? Pray for our “president” (I can’t call him that because he hasn’t satisfied Article II of the U.S. Constitution). It is sad to say the only difference between the Sanhedrin in our day and the ones in the 1st century is 2000 years and a better tailor.

What we are about to witness – provided we do nothing, is hyperinflation (prices for food, services, and interest rates going up exponentially), the persecution of the citizen who doesn’t subscribe to the way the government is being run (they already have a email address you can use to report anyone giving out “false” information). The persecution of the Church that hasn’t been seen since the time of Nero. This will culminate into the imprisonment of ordinary citizens in general and Christians in particular. Don’t believe me? The Army already has job in its catalog that spells out just such a specialty. Here’s the link:

The time is NOW to do something BESIDES prayer! You must stand up for your rights WITH OR WITHOUT YOUR PASTOR’S SUPPORT. Write, phone, fax, or email your government representative. Express how dissatisfied you are with their job performance. Always act peaceably and professionally. NEVER USE VIOLENCE. That is what they are looking for to suspend our constitution, and put this country in a state of martial law.

God gave us the rights in our Constitution through men to steward. You can either go along with the silent pastors and roll over on your back like a docile animal trusting those who “rub your belly” with their left hand while you’re not paying attention to the knife in their right hand. Or you can stand up, speak up, organize, and recall (yes recall) your elected representatives from their office and put someone there who will listen and ACT on what you deem important.

We are in day where we are to pick a side. The Lord already has. Which one will you pick?

Insanity or Integrity – Which One Do You Walk In?

Even with all the political apathy in the Church today, regardless of political party affiliation or theological camp you subscribe to, the one thing you – and only you, can control is your integrity. Not even Jesus Himself has control over this. Only you can control your choices. As you higher and deeper in God, your choices have a deeper and broader impact. Add to that the responsibility of being in five-fold or elder level leadership, and the impact of your choice just grew exponentially. In the day in which we live, navigating through life’s choices can be equated to walking through a mine field. One wrong step and it can not only spell “curtains” for you, but all around you in a 3 person you “touch” radius – at minimum. This is not including the fear factor or the dozens or hundreds that are watching and are helpless to assist or stop you.

This is precisely why the preservation of your integrity is so important. In this “Last Day” we the Church have billions of eyeballs watching our ever move, billions of ears listening to our every word. Now more than ever, our integrity is being scrutinized unlike any other day in human history. It is truly a loss that we would allow our integrity to be compromised in the presence of an unregenerate world. It is an unequivocal tragedy when our integrity is compromised by or in front of a member of the Kingdom. For when that happens we impact those in the Kingdom who God can use to change the world for His glory. Now that assignment had to be put on hold while the Great Physician operates on a needless “patient” and the patient has to convalesce in the arms of God instead of completing the assignment the God had for them since the foundation of the world.

So why do we “shoot our wounded”? The answer (in my opinion) is pride. Fearing that they might be “better” in an area, we tear them down to puff ourselves up. When will we understand that we are made up of “body parts” that are fitted together with no schisms in it. (I Cor. 12:23-25). The definition of insanity is to do the same thing repeatedly and expect a different result. It’s time to put away our “guns” and let the Great Physician put together the Body as it is meant to function.

The world has seen the “Insanity” of the Church. It is time to show them our integrity.
